Let’s get into the review!
Graphics
The graphics of Ale & Tale seem very similar to Tavern Manager Simulator. Kind of a World Of Warcraft style to it. The world does feel full and the environment has many encounters outside the tavern. Garden, Forests, and enemies help give the game depth.
Controls Learning Curve
A short tutorial helps get you acclimated pretty quickly. The further you get the more you’ll learn to rotate different recipes. Try new menu items. Plant different seeds. Raise animals. The progression really helps you learn the game.
Storyline
I do love that this is a simulator but it also has quests and side quests to complete. The quests help you acquire different items in order to gain XP and level up your tavern! I also like that the shared experience allows some players to stay and run the tavern while others head out to do quests.
Gameplay
I love that this game is multiplayer. There’s so much that needs to be done when you really get rolling with your tavern. There’s a bit of an Overcooked vibe when the Tavern starts getting a rush of customers. There’s plenty of recipes to make all sorts of different food and beverages. The best thing is, when you get to comfortable selling one set of items, the value and XP of those items goes down. So the game forces you to keep rotating what’s on the menu!
Replayability
There’s a lot of content in this game. I could see multiple plays solo or with friends. It’s a bit of a make it whatever you want. You do need to level and progress to unlock better tools and appliances. I would like a little more customization of the Tavern but it doesn’t take away that there is plenty to work through.
Final Thoughts
This game is a blast. It’s so much fun in multiplayer with friends. Working together to keep the customers flowing in and progressing your tavern. Or sending someone out to collect resources and materials. The quest lines give you more things to do and unlock. This is such a great multiplayer experience and I TOTALLY recommend it.
