Eternal Strands

This game is GORGEOUS

Let's take on monsters of all sizes in this beautiful open world RPG, Eternal Strands.

At the heart of Eternal Strands beats a revolutionary new system for gameplay interactions: heat spreads, cold chills, and real-time destruction allows for unprecedented reactivity in combat. Hurl burning tree trunks at enemies with telekinetic, snap nearby trees to block opposing fire, or channel raw telekinetic force to rip boulders from the ground.

Let’s weave this full review together!

Graphics

The sub-title says it all. This game is extremely beautiful. The enviroment, the magice, the enemies, the cinematics. I was really blown away just by how much care was put into every art element. The vivid colors and detail. Loved every second of the landscape.

Controls Learning Curve

The controls are relatively easy to pick up. The intro segment of the game takes you through each of the abilities and combat. I think at one point I even did an action just before the game told me to do it haha.

Storyline

The story is there, folks! Right from the beginning cinematic I felt like I was watching Vox Machina. The different characters and personalities. There’s alot of lore you can explore. I did my best not to spoil it but it looks like there’s a very interesting storyline with Eternal Strands

Gameplay

The gameplay felt like a mix between a few games you might be familiar with. The climbing on large creatures reminded me of Shadow of the Colossus. The camp and resource gathering felt a bit like monster hunter. The stamina and climbing felt like Breath of the Wild. So there’s great mechanics that turn this into a really fun game to play.

Replayability

I can see you spending alot of hours in this game. There’s much to explore. I can’t speak on the replayability for this one. It seems more to me like if you really enjoy the game you’ll pick it up to play it all over again. Like how I repeatedly play Ocarina of Time over and over and over again!

Final Thoughts

This is an impressive open world RPG that needs to be experienced if you’re fans of these types of genres. The fact that it’s on Xbox Gamepass makes it so much more accessible. The art style, the mechanics, the lore, and story. This is a great game to pick up and try.
