So let’s break it down with my review.
Graphics
The graphics of Tavern Manager Simulator were actually cozy and pleasant. It also didn’t feel like things were bare bones as with some simulators. I mention in the video, one of the things I can always judge a game by is the grass. It’s a small thing. But I think if the dev team goes above and beyond to add grass and animate it… then you know you’re in for a more polished experience. In this case, the graphics really reminded me of a Warcraft style. Even the NPCs look like they walked right out of WoW.
Controls Learning Curve
So easy to pick up and play. They keep it very simple to learn relatively quickly. It also helps to have a great tutorial that helps walk you along the game to begin with. Tavern Manager Simulator does a nice job with that as you progress through the first hour into the game.
Storyline
Not much of a storyline here. As Simulators usually don’t have a need for one. So anytime a storyline is in a Simulator I consider it a bonus. Honestly, if you’re a creator you could probably have more fun with the room this game gives to create your own.
Gameplay
MAN. The gameplay was so much fun. There’s so many aspects to the game that will keep you moving. Upgrading, managing customers, new recipes, rebuilding the Tavern areas, and an office to manage supplies. The funniest thing I experienced was cleaning the toilets. The sound effects alone had me crying with laughter. This game seems extremely deep too. So much to expand and upgrade.
Replayability
TONS of replayability here. The different styles of Tavern. The focus of your Tavern. The best thing about Simulators is the replayability in my opinion. Tavern Manager Simulator has so much to do that you really could start fresh and focus on a totally different path depending on the things you serve or the recipes you discover. It really is whatever you make it.
Final Thoughts
Tavern Manager Simulator is well worth it in my opinion. There’s just so much to do in this game and it constantly keeps you moving. If you stream on Twitch it also has an integration where your viewers become the guests that enter the Tavern! Overall, this game is a blast the only thing that could possibly make it better would be if they added multiplayer. But that shouldn’t take away from the face that this is such a fun game to kick back and play.
